Important information to help prevent fraud on your First State Bank of Arcadia VISA Check Card

Today, the potential for fraudulent debit and credit card transactions has become a concern both for card users and financial institutions.  One of the most important factors in combating financial fraud and theft is awareness.

Please take a moment to review these card safety tips that will help avoid the risk of unauthorized access to your card:

  • Memorize your PIN. Never write it on your card or keep it anywhere close to your card. Shield the keypad from others when entering your PIN and always make sure nobody is looking over your shoulder when you enter your PIN.
  • Shop carefully online.  Look for indicators that the site is secure, like “https” in the web address or the closed padlock icon in the bottom frame of your browser when making online purchases.
  • Never respond to an unsolicited email.  The Internet is a common channel for fraud perpetration. Never provide your check card number, PIN or any other non-public information to anyone in response to an unsolicited email, pop-up message or phone request.  As a reminder, we will NEVER ask for your PIN.
  • Monitor your card activity.   Review your account activity through Online or Mobile Banking on a daily basis for unfamiliar transactions.
  • Report a lost or stolen card at once. Please contact us immediately at (863) 494-2220 if you believe your First State Bank of Arcadia Visa® Check Card and/or PIN has been lost or stolen, or if you believe that an unauthorized transaction has occurred. To report a compromised card and/or PIN after normal business hours, please contact the 24-hour Hotline at 1-800-236-2442.
  • Debit Card Alerts. Provide a text message or e-mail anytime your First State Bank check card is used.  This allows you to immediately spot suspected fraudulent card transactions and report them to us.

If you have any questions regarding this message, please contact us at (863) 494-2220 or stop in to your closest First State Bank of Arcadia branch and we will be happy to assist you.
